Why are there so many fat girls in the U.S. especially the south?

I recently moved down south and noticed almost half the girls and guys down here are fat to some degree. It sucks. Is it that hard to stay in shape and not look like a manatee? I want to say I feel bad making fun of them, but it's not like most of them can't help it. I can't bring myself to date a girl who's gross and out of shape even if she's nice. Because I know at some point I have to attempt to have with her and I'll cry afterwards if I do. I have traveled to other countrie and noticed alot of attractive girls and rarely any fat ones. Then I come back here and it's 'Jesus, what is that?'
