Can I go after the store for this incident?

I was at a local used Movie store. Browsed around for a bit. It was pretty cool that they had the Super Mario Brothers Movie. As I was leaving a clerk grabbed me from behind. now this startled me a bit. He said what sin your backpack. I said nothing man. He ripped it off my shoulder and spilled all my stuff out. I had forgotten that I was thinking of buying the DVD and put it in my backback. I calmly trie dto explain to hi that I forgot it was in there and that I was gonna come back tomorrow and buy it. I offered to pay for it but I had no money at all. All I had was my freinds credit card to use. He wouldnt accept it. He was trying to push me in a back room which frightened me a bit and I accidentally pushed a wrack of dvds over which fell on him and ran away fearing for my safety. He chase dme outside and tackled me. I punched him than he punched me back I eventually got to the car and called the police on this guy. He lied and said I was stealing items and I was taken in by the police. Can I sue the store for some moneys or DVDs? They really overstepped their selfs here and the clerk was wayout of line.
