Can a recording console send phantom power to a microphone via a 1/4" connection?

On a console with both 1/4" and XLR inputs the +48v usually only goes into the XLR. However if your console only has 1/4" and does have phantom, then I would suggest it does run +48v into the 1/4" lines. The console's manual should give you the answer. PS-Do the mic(s) you have need phantom power?
